What is PACE for Moms?
The PACE for Moms program is a research study conducted by the
Center for Health Interventions and Technology. This study aims to test
the effectiveness of a weight loss program designed specifically for
postpartum women. In addition, we are also interested in learning more
about how to help overweight postpartum women improve physical activity
and nutrition behaviors. The program was created taking into account the
intense demands of motherhood, and offers practical steps for busy moms.
PACE for Moms builds upon more than 15 years of research experience
in offering and testing diet and activity programs.

Why Should I Participate?
Why is postpartum weight management so important?

Scientific evidence shows that pregnancy can be a trigger for obesity among
women. Obesity can lead to many health problems, including diabetes, heart disease,
problems with bones and joints, problems with breathing, and others.
-
So, by improving diet and activity habits you can positively impact your current
weight, and also your health for years to come.

participate in PACE for Moms. Benefits include:
-
Learning how to be more active, eat healthier, and maintain a healthy
lifestyle.

Getting support for changing behaviors known to result in weight loss/weight
stabilization.
-
Getting up-to-date health information.
